Elizabeth Burry was born and raised in beautiful Newfoundland . She is known for her brightly colored realism paintings inspired by the unique landscapes and people of her home Province. The subjects of this diversified artist range from floral to seascapes and children to marine life, but she enjoys bringing any subject to life.

Elizabeth has a unique ability to incorporate light, color and emotion into her paintings. Most of her work is created in acrylic however watercolor and color pencil can have its place on her pallet. Her career started as a self taught decorative artist. She moved on in 1996 to become a student with the Ed Roche School of Art where she continues to participate in classes as well as workshops by well-known Newfoundland Artists.

Her work has adorned the cover of “ The Downhomer Magazine” and her works have been collected by admirers all over Canada and North America, especially her newly created “ Images of Newfoundland “ Series. Her most treasured accomplishment has been the creation of the 2001 Christmas Card image for the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation’s Campaign, “ Christmas Morning Crossing” which sold out in record time. She is delighted to have just been selected again to create the image for the 2002 Christmas card. She is an active member of the “Realist Artist Association of Newfoundland and Labrador” and the “Art Association of Newfoundland and Labrador ”. Elizabeth has been very successful in the self-publishing art industry and soon hopes to expand her market through an international publishing house.
