Known for her subject matter and attention to detail, Linda Doody likes to paint old houses, doorways and windows that depict a way of life known to her as a child. Often asked the location of a certain picture, Linda will respond, "Where do you want it to be?"

Born and raised on the west coast of Newfoundland, Linda attended school in Stephenville. Although she showed artistic promise in school, she was advised to choose the "more sensible" career of nursing as a career in art was perceived to be more difficult and unstable. It was not until her two sons were in their early teens did Linda again pick up her interest in art. Inspired by various Newfoundland artists, Linda has developed an eclectic style that constantly surprises the viewer.
