Todd Sooley was born in 1965 and grew up in a small community of Heart's Delight & Islington in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. He moved to St. John's in 1985 and received a Diploma in Commercial Art in 1986. He started working as a commercial artist in the same year in the screen printing industry. Now, with 15 years experience, he still works as an artist in the screen printing, embroidery, and signage business with a company located in St. John's.

"I have always been drawing and painting since I can remember but started painting seriously about 15 years ago. My main subject to paint is Newfoundland scenery and the Newfoundland people which I think is a great combination!"
